Natural Pigment Making Workshop

Drawing Together

Join MAAM and MassArt Studio Foundation professor Jane Marsching to learn about where color originates in the world around us. Naturally sourced pigments are a sustainable alternative to toxic, polluting, and conflict labor produced pigments. For this workshop, we’ll forage for plants, rocks, earth, food to make pigments and mix with binders to create paints, inks, and dyes. You’ll also get an inside look at the new MassArt Natural Pigment Library of colors from around the world. All ages are welcome, no art experience necessary.
