MEET THE COMICS

Shruti Datari, host | @shrutitellsjokes

Shruti Datari is a Boston comedian and founder of Half a Mind Comedy, which produces shows with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion, and a co-producer at New Normal comedy, which primarily features comics from marginalized backgrounds. A two-time Burren competition winner, Shruti has performed all over the Boston area, from comedy clubs like Nick’s Comedy Stop & The Comedy Studio to sketchy basements that violate fire codes. She started doing comedy after sustaining a traumatic brain injury, because she figured after learning how to walk and talk again, conquering her fear of public speaking wouldn’t be that hard. She was greatly mistaken and lives with regret to this day.

Steph Dalwin | @stephdalwin

Steph Dalwin (she/her) is a Boston-based standup comedian. She's part Vietnamese, part Jewish, and 100% lactose intolerant. Steph was recently featured on PBS Stories from the Stage, and has opened for comedians like Jay Jurden and Rachel Scanlon. She also performed at the Far From Here Comedy Festival in Toronto. Beyond performing, Steph produces shows throughout the Boston area. She is a founder of Boston's first and only Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Comedy Festival. She also co-founded New Normal Comedy, a production collective that centers underrepresented voices in comedy: women, BIPOC performers, folks across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, people with disabilities, etc.

Mark-Anthony Lewis | @snarkanthony

Snarky, witty, corny, quirky — Mark-Anthony Lewis is a stand-up comic, writer, Polaroid photographer and phlebotomist. You can catch him regularly at The Comedy Studio in Cambridge, MA, with the live DnD show Let's Not Die or as a background actor in the critically-acclaimed film Good Burger 2. In his free time, Mark-Anthony enjoys jazz, baking and interior design. His favorite color is purple.
(No need to say any of this as a host introduction. Just say "one of New England's top bird comics.")

Viv Martin | @vivmartincomedy

Viv Martin (they/them) is a PhD student in English. They're the co-founder of Men in Comedy, an all-femme comedy show at novelty locations around Boston. They've performed at the Boston Comedy Festival, Portland Comedy Festival, and Don't Tell Providence, among other places.

Isabel Thurston | @isabelthurstoncomedy

Isabel Thurston is the cofounder of the Duck Duck Goofs comedy club, producer of Divine Comedy shows, and generally an angelic presence in all our lives.
