Community, Activism, Art. What do these words mean to you? How do they work together? Art and activism often go hand in hand. Whether it’s designing an iconic symbol or creating posters to carry during a protest, art plays a significant role in social movements.

This week’s Drawing Together aligns with Pride Month. June marks the journey of LGBTQ+ communities around the world from the struggle for acceptance to a celebration of their identities.

What symbols might you create to express your idea of pride and/or freedom? Who are you proud to be? Draw a poster that shows what about yourself you are proud of, incorporating symbols that represent who you are whether it is your sexual or cultural identity, family, or passion for art.

Remember to share your creations with us and each other by tagging @maamboston or #MAAMDrawingTogether.

We will post our Drawing Together prompts every Thursday.
