Dr. Carole Boyce Davies is Professor of Africana Studies and English at Cornell University. She is the author of several books and the editor of numerous critical anthologies and essay collections, including The Encyclopedia of the African Diaspora. Throughout her work as a scholar, mentor, and writer, she devotes herself to social justice and anti-racist and anti-sexist politics.

The Adderley Lecture Series recognizes the achievements of distinguished artists, art historians, writers, and social justice advocates from underrepresented groups.
