On View at MAAM
Aáni yéi xat duwasáakw (I am called Land) is an exhibition by acclaimed Alaska-based Tlingít and Unangax̂ artist Nicholas Galanin. Featuring a new kinetic sculpture and video installation, the presentation invites viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness of land, culture, and humanity.
GENERATIONS honors artists deeply engaged in Boston’s creative ecosystem: L'Merchie Frazier, Daniela Rivera, and Wen-ti Tsen. Each artist, through their distinct artistic practices in sculpture, painting, textile, and public art, explores themes of community memory, identity, and cultural narratives.
In the Neighborhood
While you’re in the area, experience Nicholas Galanin’s installation, I think it goes like this (pick yourself up) in Evans Way Park. This monumental bronze sculpture cast from chopped-up imitation totems is featured in the Boston Public Art Triennial, a city-wide exhibition of over 15 public art commissions accompanied by community programs. Discover additional Triennial installations in the Fenway and throughout Boston, here.
